Question: What makes Thrive the best nonprofit consultant for me?

Answer: Thrive provides best-in-class nonprofit consulting results. Because our team brings varying nonprofit and business-minded knowledge to the table, we firmly feel that our products outshine others. Additionally, no one beats our joy factor! We’d describe that joy here, but we truly individualize every experience so that the joy speaks to you. Last, our overhead costs are tiny thanks to remote work and technology skill sets. We get to pass that savings on to you.

Question: Why doesn’t Thrive release its annual fundraising total or client list?

Answer: Thrive is not the singular reason anyone raises funds. Fundraising is an art that requires a melding of development, accounting/bookkeeping, leadership, and program knowledge. Taking full credit for a win just isn’t our jam. Plus, ROI is a much better metric. Win more than you invest - that’s the end game.

Question: How do I know my nonprofit consultant is the right fit for me?

Answer: Thrive’s hiring process is unique. To join Team Thrive, you must be joyful, a lifelong learner, self-motivated, and love writing. Every member of Team Thrive defines these traits. Because of that, we will learn, pivot, or adjust to meet your expectations. So, if you relate to these traits, you will love your Thrive consultant. Also, it is worth noting that every client gets access to a two-person team. One is your primary contact. This person becomes an expert on your organization. The second team member works behind the scenes - looking for holes in all the work we create.

Question: Where does Thrive work?

Answer: Thrive is a Houston-based nonprofit consulting firm; however, we work with nonprofits nationwide. As of September 2025, we support nonprofits in Texas (statewide), Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, New Jersey, and Illinois. We also work with national charities and international support agencies working in South America and Africa.

Question: Thrive seems to love AI. Does Thrive use AI to write grants or marketing copy?

Answer: Never. Generative AI is in its infancy. It cannot create a grant application or appeal letter (or any other text) that replicates quality human-powered writing. Thrive uses AI to assess, research, and edit.

Questions: Does Thrive offer one-time grant writing services?

Answer: Nope. The odds aren’t in your favor that this will get you the ROI you want. We only offer retainer grant services.

Question: How much will your services cost?

Answer: Every Thrive agreement is custom-tailored to meet your needs. We literally do not own proposal templates! Therefore, we cannot provide you with an estimated cost until we determine the scope of work. If the initial proposal is too high for your budget, we can adjust it to include a longer time period or a reduced scope.

Question: Can you guarantee that we will raise money?

Answer: If you find a nonprofit consultant who can guarantee that, please run and hide. :) That is like an investor guaranteeing a business owner that customers will buy their product. We can guarantee you will learn, grow, and improve because of your relationship with Thrive. Typically, when those things happen, you raise more money.
